AT&T offering internet plans as low as $5 a month

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – AT&T is offering more options that are affordable for families.

AT&T announced a new plan for low-income families. The plan will offer discounted internet access as low as $5 a month.

Those eligible for the new program must have at least one person in their household who receives food stamps.

The program will offer internet connection speeds of 3 megabits per second for $5 month. Internet connection speeds of 5 or 10 megabits per second will be $10 a month. Installation and equipment fees will also be waived.

Those who qualify for the two options, will not be able to choose their speed. Instead, they will be assigned the fastest available based on where they live.CNN contributed to this report.
