26-year-old arrested for criminal confinement in Parke County

PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – The Parke County Sheriff’s Office reports 26-year-old Britt Allen Murphy, Jr. was arrested on May 3 for criminal confinement.

Officials report the PCSO, with the help of Montezuma Town Marshal, investigated a domestic violence case in Montezuma.

Investigators report Murphy, Jr. forced a female into a vehicle and took her back to his home in Montezuma. Police report while the female was held at the house, Murphy, Jr. repeatedly battered and threatened her.

After several hours, the female was able to force her way through a door and escape. She was treated at Union Hospital in Clinton for non-life threatening injuries.

Murphy, Jr. was arrested and faces charges of criminal confinement and domestic battery with serious bodily injury. Officials report he may face additional charges.

He is being held at the Parke County Jail on no bond.
