Noblesville woman shot during home invasion

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – Noblesville police are investigating after a woman says she was shot in her home early Sunday afternoon.

It happened on the 12000 block of Lindley Drive around 1:30 p.m.

Police identified the victim as 36-year-old Diana Neville.

“It is normally a very quiet neighborhood,” said Kristen King, who lives across the street from where the shooting occurred. “I actually know most of my neighbors that live in the direct surrounding area, so I was really shocked.”

Police brought in a K-9 unit to try to piece together what happened. A door jam was clearly damaged, but it’s not known when the damage occurred.

“Really actually don’t know what happened. I hope she’s alright and doing well but not really sure what went down inside the house,” said Justin Flint, who lives a few houses away.

The woman was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

“This is like the first time anything like this has actually ever happened, so it was kind of nerve-racking to actually see this all go down,” Flint said.

Police said Neville wasn’t able to give them a description of the shooter. As the investigation unfolds, police say they’re keeping everything on the table.

“Anything is possible these days, but it just doesn’t seem very familiar,” King said.

Police have not said if they are searching for a suspect.
