Study: 9 in 10 women are sole financial decision-makers in households

AUGUSTA, GEORGIA – Nine out of ten women are the financial decision makers of their households according to a new study.

The Administration on Aging’s survey revealed at some point in their lives, women will solely be making sure all the bills are paid and how money will be spent.

Women of the “sandwich generation” those with both aging parents and teens are more likely to feel the financial stress.

Through a movement called onUp, women can find the resources they need to manage their families income.

“We’re ensuring that not only women on Mother’s Day, but women everyday, who are the life givers have the tools and make the right decisions that are going to be able to propel their families forward,” said Senior Vice President of SunTrust Bank Muriel Garr.
