Zionsville votes to implement school time changes
ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – The school board for the Zionsville Community Schools voted Monday night to change the school times.
The decision was based on a study that shows teenagers need more sleep.
Here is how the times are scheduled now in Zionsville:
- Middle schools start at 7:40 a.m.
- High school starts at 8:10 a.m.
- Elementary begins at 9 a.m.
Here is a breakdown of the new times:
- Elementary school: 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Middle school: 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
- High school: 8:30 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.
The changes won’t go into effect until the Fall of 2017.
