Anthem shareholders upset, Duke Energy customer service ratings decrease

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Some Anthem shareholders say they are upset over political spending, and Duke Energy slips in customer service ratings.

Anthem will face shareholder criticism this week because they said the company doesn’t divulge just how much it pays for political influence.

The proposed shareholder resolutions would require the insurance companies to provide detailed disclosures of all direct and indirect political spending. Anthem’s shareholder meeting is Thursday.

Anthem already reported what they spend on is lobbying, but shareholders said they want them to shed light on so-called dark money they funnel to organizations with political and business influence.

In other business news, Duke Energy is continuing to show declines in ratepayer satisfaction, despite claims that it wants to improve its customer service.

According to American Customer Satisfaction Index Survey of 26 major companies, a recent survey said Duke Energy ranked among the lowest in the country in the customer service category among large power companies.
