School bus crashes on near north side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indianapolis Public Schools bus crashed on the near north side of the city Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to 36th Street and College Avenue around 2:30 p.m.

An Indianapolis Public Schools official tells 24-Hour News 8 that no students were on board.

Investigators say the bus was headed north on College Avenue when it collided with an SUV trying to turn south onto the same road.

The bus crashed into a home. A woman inside the home says she was eating lunch when she heard and felt a loud thud. Only her porch was damaged.

Both vehicle drivers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
