Chewbacca mom meets ‘real’ chewbacca
DALLAS, TX (WISH) – The woman known as “chewbacca mom” and the woman who blew up the internet with a mask and her infectious laughter got to meet the real chewbacca.
Candice Payne, got to meet the real man behind chewbacca, actor Peter Mayhem at Fan Expo Dallas on Sunday.
Payne had her own booth at the event.
She said the sudden fame still hasn’t hit home.
“It’s hilarious… the fact that I’m here,” Payne said. “To just be able to see my name next to some of the names that they’re sitting next to.. it literally made me a laugh out loud. I’m just as amazed as y’all are at this entire thing, but I really do feel like there are some great things to come.”
Payne said she is using her fame to do good.
She gave autographs for $20 at the expo. She said the money will go to charity.
The family has received thousands of dollars in gifts and offers since her video went viral.CNN contributed to this report.
