Divers respond to report of car in Fort Wayne river

 FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Crews responded to the Tecumseh Street bridge Monday morning after someone reported seeing a car in the water.

According to Fort Wayne police dispatch, divers responded around around 10 a.m. to the bridge at Tecumseh Street and Edgewater Avenue.

It’s not clear if anyone was in the vehicle. Other details will be released after the Fort Wayne Fire Department’s Special Operations Response Team (SORT) completes its investigation.

Witnesses told 24-Hour News 8’s sister station, WANE, they didn’t see the car go into the water, but they said it was floating in the middle of the river and started to drift to the side before it sank.
