Kokomo announces new townhome development
KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) – A new townhome development for downtown Kokomo is in the works.
According to a release, eight new townhomes, three condos and new retail space will be coming to the downtown area.
The Market Street Townhomes will be on the same block as the new YMCA.
Each unit will average 2,225 square feet. The largest will be 3,300 square feet.
“The Market Street townhomes are a perfect fit for the Kokomo housing market,” said Scott Pitcher of Fortune Companies. “The architecture will integrate this project into the surrounding neighborhood as if it has been there from the beginning. There is a high demand for this kind of residential product. Four of the eight townhomes have already been pre-sold.”
The townhomes will features:
- Stainless steel appliances
- Hardwood floors on main floor
- Granite countertops
- 2 car garage
- Private and secure parking
- Small yard for additional green space
“People want to live, work and play in walkable neighborhoods,” said Mayor Greg Goodnight. “This new private development addresses the need for more diverse housing options while redeveloping an underutilized lot. It fits in with our overall urban infill philosophy.”
The townhomes are expected to be finished in May 2017.
