Kidnapping investigation leads to arrest

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A kidnapping investigation lead to the arrest of an Indianapolis man.

According to police, the Indiana State Police Indianapolis Dispatch Center received a 911 call Monday about a possible abduction of an adult man. The caller told dispatch a man was forced inside a truck at gunpoint and drove away. The caller said they followed the suspect’s truck and provided updated location information to dispatch.

Police said as the truck traveled into Johnson County on I-65, officers from both the Franklin Police Department and Johnson County Sheriff’s Department stopped the truck.

Police said it was not a random abduction and that the victim and suspect knew each other.

The suspect, James Crittenden, 27 of Indianapolis, was arrested on unrelated warrants out of Marion County. The other people in the truck, as well as the victim were questions by police then released.

A stolen gun was found from the truck under the seat of Crittenden. He was wanted on warrants for possession of cocaine and conversion.
