Secretary of state sends more postcards verifying voter info

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – The Indiana Secretary of State’s Election Division is sending out postcards looking for voters.

The office sent postcards in May to all voters seeking to identify outdated information. The new postcards can be forwarded to voters whose first postcard was returned as undeliverable. The postcard asks voters to confirm or update their registration information.

Voters who received a second postcard have until Aug. 5 to confirm or update their voter information. Voters who don’t respond by Aug. 5 will have their record put on the inactive list. That doesn’t mean they can’t vote. It means a voter’s record appears to have an incorrect address.

If the person doesn’t vote before January 2019, they can be removed from the poll lists.
