J.K. Rowling unveils western Massachusetts Hogwarts
ADAMS, Mass. (WWLP) – Author J.K. Rowling revealed Tuesday that the North American Hogwarts resides on Mount Greylock in Adams, Massachusetts.
In a recent post on her Pottermore website, Rowling names Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as the American school of magic.
The story provides some background information for the upcoming film “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” which is about an Irish girl who sails to North America on the Mayflower and later founds the school. Ilvermorny is apart of a new series of writing by the “Harry Potter” author called “Magic in North America.”
Mount Greylock is the highest natural point in the state of Massachusetts, and is located in Berkshire County.
