Colts team with Indy Parks to create fitness park

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Representatives from the Indianapolis Colts, Indy Parks and the Indianapolis Parks foundation broke ground Wednesday at Riverside Park on a new fitness park.

The Colts Fitness Park is scheduled to open in September and will include a PLAY 60 challenge course, a 40-yard dash area and exercise equipment as part of 5,000 square feet of play space. It is the first fitness park of its kind to be built in the Midwest.

The project is being funded by the Indianapolis Colts Foundation through proceeds from the team’s 50/50 gameday raffle as well as the NFL Foundation. Officials said he park will serve more than 30,000 people annually.
