2 shot on city’s near east side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Two people were shot on the city’s near east side early Sunday morning.

According to police, Two men were shot in the 3000 block of Campbell Avenue just after 6 a.m.  One was hit in the lower back, the other man was shot in the hip.

Police said it is believed that someone either drove by or walked up to the house and began shooting.

There were five people in the house at the time of the shooting, including a three-year-old child.  However, they are not cooperating with police.

Both of the men hit were transported to the hospital and taken into surgery. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
