Jury trial sessions begin for 3 charged in $2 million fraudulent lottery claim

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The jury trial sessions will begin Monday for the three people from Plainfield who tried to pass off a stolen lottery ticket.

The Marion County prosecutor said Ashlee and Jackie (Campbell) Parsley and Joseph Parsley tried to cash a bogus $2 million ticket they stole from their family liquor store. The three were charged in the investigation that began in October 2014.

Under state statute, citizens cannot purchase or play a lottery ticket from a family-owned store or from a personally owned business.

Prosecutors said the three bought cars, a big house and put more than $50,000 in the bank.
