Police seek help in search for suspect wanted in beating, robbing woman

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s help in the search for a suspect wanted in connection to the beating and robbery of a woman.

According to IMPD, the incident occurred at the Marathon gas station located in 800 block of East 42nd Street just before 3:30 p.m. on June 1.

After arriving on scene, police found the female victim who stated she had been robbed and who was suffering from swelling to her face,

Police said 23-year-old Neverean Jackson offered to pump a woman’s gas.  When the female victim began to collect money to give to Jackson for his assistance, Jackson grabbed her purse.

The victim then fought back, attempting to regain control of her purse.  Jackson then pulled her to the ground, and punched her in the face

Jackson was spotted fleeing the scene in a newer model black Chrysler Sebring.

The female was treated on scene for her injuries.

A warrant has been issued for Jackson.
