Indiana woman finds dead man in backyard

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A woman called police after finding an unconscious man in her backyard, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.

Police were called to the 1400 block of Schilling Avenue shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday.

Paramedics pronounced the man dead.

Detectives canvassed the neighborhood in an attempt to find any witnesses or anyone with information about what happened. Crime scene technicians also collected and photographed evidence.

The name of the victim has not been released. Police have not said if the man lived in the area.

The Allen County Coroner is expected to conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause and manner of death.

The incident is under investigation.
