Pence delivers economic message in Pennsylvania

PHILADELPHIA (WISH) — Mike Pence is in the battleground state of Pennsylvania telling voters that a Trump Administration would be good for the economy.

He’s also telling voters that Hillary Clinton is running for what would be a third term of the Obama administration. He says her economic policies would be more of the same.

Pence toured a plant in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, just outside Philadelphia, to make that case that a Trump Administration would be different.

The plant is owned by a company called Tech Tube. It makes tubing for a number of industries including those who make heart stents.

It was a startup 21 years ago and Pence called it an American success story but then added this:

This is a family business that is going to continue to struggle under the mis-administrations and big government and higher taxes and Obamacare of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. The truth of the matter is they like to tell us this economy is the best that we can do but all of you in this room know it’s not the best we can do. It’s just the best they can do.”

He also said that, “When Donald Trump becomes the President of the United States of America, we’re going to have a lot more stories like Tech Tube.”

Unlike most of his campaign appearances, Pence took no questions from the audience this time. That would dillute his economic message.

It’s a message he’s sticking with. After visiting two plants in Pennsylvania Tuesday, he is going on yet another plant tour Wednesday in North Carolina.
