Woman arrested for smuggling drugs concealed in pants into Greencastle prison

GREENCASTLE, Ind. (WISH) — A woman was arrested for trafficking with an inmate after smuggling drugs in her pants into a Putnam County prison.

Kaliea Booker, 30, of Indianapolis was taken into custody while visiting Willie Harrison, an inmate at Putnamville Correctional Facility.

A media release from the prison says she was hiding more than 100 strips believed to be suboxone as well as a .14 ounce package of synthetic marijuana in her pants.

She faces charges of attempted trafficking with an inmate, a level 5 felony.

Harrison is serving a 14-year sentence for aggravated battery out of Marion County. He is in restricted housing while the investigation continues, according to the prison.

“I commend our dedicated staff, and appreciate the collaboration we received from our neighboring facilities, as well as the communication that assisted in this arrest. I am thoroughly pleased that the contraband was prevented from entering the facility,” superintendent Brian Smith said.
