The annual French Market returns on Saturday

Thank you very much to the folks at The French Market for dropping off a gift basket of item’s to be featured at this year’s event!

The annual French Market begins at noon and runs until 10 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2016 on the grounds of St. Joan of Arc Church, located at 4217 Central Avenue, Indianapolis. The French Market is one of Indy’s major neighborhood festivals with live entertainment, artisan booths, children’s activities, and an array of French and American cuisine. Admission is free.

The French Market is one of Indy’s best neighborhood street fair with live bands, artisan booths, a raffle, children’s games and an array of French food. Free admission makes the event affordable for families and folks of all ages.

Featured bands this year include Fernando Tarango & The Wickersham Brothers from noon to 2:00 p.m, The Tides from 2:15 to 4:15 p.m., Frenchaxe from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m, and theToy Factory from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.

The menu includes French favorites such as Tarte Flambé, Quiche, French Onion Soup, Escargot, Oysters, French bread and herb butter, a cheese, fruit and pâté plate, Rotisserie Chicken, BBQ Ribs, Crawfish Étouffée, Tenderloin tips in wine sauce, French pastries and desserts. Beverages include soft drinks, iced cappuccino, and Café du Monde. A bake sale adds to the gourmet selections. Beer and wine are available for purchase in the beer garden

For the third year, the 5:30 Mass will be celebrated in French by Father Michael Hoyt in the historic Roman style basilica constructed in 1929. Historic tours of the church will also be conducted.

Raffle prizes include $2000 cash, a quilt made and donated by Pat Crossland, Electra Cruiser Men’s and Women’s Bikes donated by Bike Line, a Euro-Style Scooter, an iPhone Watch, 4 Colts Tickets with a tailgate picnic by the Pawn Shop Pub and an NFL football autographed by Reggie Wayne.
