4 dogs, 21 dead rats found in Sullivan County condemned home

SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – A community tip led the Sullivan County Humane Society and Indiana State Police to a condemned home that had animals living in deplorable conditions.

Officials arrived at the home in 300 block of East Washington Street around 1:12 p.m. Saturday.

Inside the home officers found animal feces, urine, flea infestation, dry animal food around the home and no running water. A male Pitbull, a female pregnant female Pitbull, two other mixed bread dogs, four rabbits and 21 dead rats. In the backyard a burial site was found that contained two bludgeoned dogs and one rabbit.

Witness who called in the tips said they have seen two males dressing hoodies at the home between 2 and 3 a.m.. They were seen driving a faded red to maroon older model four-door car.

The home is owned by a Florida based company, but is currently condemned by the Sullivan Building Commissioner.
