Police respond to Muncie apartment, find man dead inside
MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) – Police in Muncie are investigating after finding an older man dead in his apartment around 8 a.m.
Police say they were called out to East 16th Street after someone called police concerned about a man’s well-being. The man was found dead in his apartment just off of Skinner Avenue.
He has been identified as 75-year-old Larry Reed.
“I’m very upset about it because he didn’t bother nobody he was a real nice guy, stuck to himself,” neighbor Lynda Green said. “He was a nice guy, it’s just a sad thing.”
It’s not clear how Reed died. Police couldn’t give a description of a suspect.
“It is very unusual,” Sgt. Daxton Lovell of Muncie PD Criminal Investigations said, “It’s very upsetting to have a homicide to begin with in our town, but it is unusual for the neighborhood and this area, this kind of stuff doesn’t usually happen.”
