Gather around, it’s time for a social! Today on Indy Style, we learn about Punch Bowl Social, as Chef Danny makes us “one of the best sandwiches in the country,” and tells us all about their upcoming grand opening celebration!
What are the grand opening celebrations?
On September 24 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Indianapolis-area residents who want to experience Punch Bowl Social can do it in the most all-encompassing way possible. A $10 donation at the door will get guests buffet food, drinks and free gaming. Absolutely 100 percent of proceeds from the cover charge will go toward our charity partner, Simon Youth Foundation, to help provide education for struggling students.
When researching markets for Punch Bowl Social, we look for thriving communities that enjoy entertainment and having a good time. We see that Indianapolis is quickly becoming an entertainment epicenter in the Midwest, and we want to be a part of it. We also feel a lot of strong ties from our founding city of Denver to Indianapolis. We’ve shared a quarterback, and we’re looking forward to sharing Punch Bowl Social.
What is “eat-ertainment”?
It’s the experience you get when you visit Punch Bowl Social. We’ve eliminated having to choose between respectable food and beverage and a great social experience. Punch Bowl brings “old school” entertainment, culinary refinement, and a modern beverage program under one roof. Our “dirty modern” style combines industrial, Victorian and modern design elements in a playful, timeless setting for all.

Punch Bowl Social pairs scratch dishes and craft beverages with vintage games and social activities like bowling, 80’s video games, shuffleboard, Ping-Pong, lawn bowling and skee-ball.
A grand opening celebration will be held Saturday, September 24 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Guests will enjoy a special tasting menu, drink specials, complimentary games and live music by Brother O’ Brother. Punch Bowl Social Indianapolis will include eight bowling lanes, two bocce courts, three private karaoke rooms, three bars (with plenty of televisions for the sports enthusiast) and numerous other lounging and gathering spots – for small groups and large private gatherings- housed in an eclectic space melding mountain lodge, Victorian, modern and industrial design themes.
The award-winning brand arrives in Indy with an exciting new menu created by the company’s new culinary partner, celebrity chef Hugh Acheson. Acheson, an award-winning restauranteur, Top Chef judge and James Beard award winner, was tapped to lead the ongoing culinary direction of the growing restaurant concept and further strengthen Punch Bowl Social’s commitment to a seasonally inspired, scratch kitchen.
Already well-received in other Punch Bowl Social cities, the new menu features Acheson’s southern culinary sensibilities paired with modern cooking techniques. A few standout items include the decadent and sharable Pimento Cheese, fall-off-the-bone Confit St. Louis Ribs, and a reimagined nitrate-free Fra’Mani Fried Bologna Sandwich served with house made olive tapenade, sustainably raised Fra’Mani Mortadella, and Gruyere cheese.
Punch Bowl Social’s innovative beverage program offers old and new school cocktails, all natural sodas and fizzes, floats and shakes (kid-friendly and grownup versions available), fresh squeezed juices and breakfast drinks. And those eponymous punches? They’re as enjoyable to look at – served in vintage glass bowls and adorned with fresh fruit, herbs and spices – as they are fun to share.
Punch Bowl Social’s grand opening coincides with Circle Centre Mall’s recently opened and long-anticipated Georgia Street entrance, located at the south end of the property, west of Meridian Street. The new entrance will allow guests to move seamlessly from Circle Centre’s dining and entertainment options, to destinations along the popular entertainment district.
