Circle City Classic kicks off with pep rally

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A popular event kicked off Friday on Monument Circle.

The 33rd annual Circle City Classic began Friday with a pep rally.

The festivities began with dance teams and marching bands from historically black college and universities.

People started gathering for the rally around the monument.

For some, it’s a yearly tradition.

“It’s just a yearly event for me and my family to come up here and enjoy the parade, enjoy the bands and enjoy the game,” AJ Miles said.

The parade begins Saturday at 10 a.m.

It’s followed by tailgating and the big game.

This year, Central State Marauders and the Kentucky State Thoroughbreds face off for the title at Lucas Oil Stadium.
