Area fire recruits undergo safety and survival training
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — New firefighters from several area departments are spending their week learning to keep themselves alive in high stress situations.
It is all part of the 21-week Central Indiana Fire Academy. Eighteen firefighter recruits will be participating in the training.
They are learning how to stay alive if they become lost, disoriented, injured, low on air or trapped.
The firefighters are recruits for Wayne Township, Avon, Speedway and Lawrence.
