Man arrested after search warrant leads to discovery of guns, narcotics

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — One man was arrested Tuesday morning after the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Southwest District Narcotics and Vice detectives served a search warrant in the 5700 block of Port Lillian Drive.

According to police, detectives had identified 43-year-old Jeremiah Young as the primary target of an investigation. Shortly after 8 a.m., SWAT officers entered the residence and immediately came into contact with Young without incident. Another adult and several children were also inside the residence, but are not believed to be involved.

After searching the residence, detectives located 15 grams of heroin, 15 grams of marijuana, ten Xanax pills and eight guns.

Young was arrested and faces preliminary charges of possession of marijuana, dealing in narcotics, two counts of possession of narcotics, and maintaining a common nuisance.

A final charging decision will be made by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
