IU student arrested in connection with drugs, weapon
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — An Indiana University student is in custody after authorities smelled marijuana coming from a parked vehicle
Authorities recovered 34 grams of marijuana and a stolen handgun during the vehicle search.
The gun is believed to be one of the several firearms stolen from a North Vernon gun store robbery in 2014 where the owner was shot and killed.
Indiana University student Jason Nguyen was arrested on charges of possession of a stolen firearm, which is a felony.
He also faces the following misdemeanor charges: carry a handgun without a license, dealing in marijuana, possession of marijuana and illegal possession of an alcoholic beverage.
