INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Meridian and Washington Street is a very busy intersection in downtown Indianapolis. It is an intersection that has plenty of foot traffic and stoplights.

Recently some thieves using skimmer devices targeted an ATM on the corner; however, once the device was attached, it alerted the bank.

Representatives for Main Source Bank adds its ATMs are monitored each day, and that is how the skimmer was discovered before any customers were victimized.

Police urge residents not to use any ATMs that look as if they have been tampered with, or ATMs that are loose.

No suspects have been identified in this case. Investigators believe the suspects often attach the skimmers early in the morning to ATM machines.

If you have any information call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS, or 262-8477.
