Man crashes vehicle into furniture store on city’s east side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Authorities are investigating after a man plowed into a Decor Furniture store on Sunday.

The crash happened just after 11:30 a.m. in the area of East 10th Street and North Bosart Avenue.

After the crashing into the furniture store, the 35-year-old man went across Bosart Avenue and crashed into a Mcdonald’s pole.

The five occupants in the vehicle then fled on foot, including the driver, who grabbed a 6-year-old boy with him.

Officers were later able to apprehend the suspect without incident. The child went unharmed.

Damages have been estimated at $35,000.

The investigation is still ongoing.
