Serious crash reported northeast of Greenfield
GREENFIELD, Ind. (The Daily Reporter) – Sheriff’s deputies and ambulance crews responded to the scene of a serious crash near the intersection of county roads 600 East and 250 North at approximately 3:45 p.m.
A medical helicopter was called to the scene to transport at least one victim, according to police scanner traffic.
The incident happened with a westbound minivan on County Road 250 N, driven by 90-year-old Richard Pinkston, crossed the center line and into the path of a northbound truck.
Pinkston was killed in the accident and three other people were hospitalized, including two children who were in the vehicle with Pinkston. The children suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries.
The county roads were shut down while officers investigated.
The crash site is near Interstate 70 and about 2 miles northeast of Greenfield.
