‘Lights at the Brickyard’ returns to IMS for holiday season

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Workers are putting the finishing touches on the “Lights at the Brickyard” display inside the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The popular drive-through display debuted last year. This year there will be a longer route featuring over 2.5 million bright lights and an expanded lineup of colorful displays.

“It’s going to be a little bit longer course, like three tenths of a mile longer,” IMS President Doug Boles said. “The cool thing for people last year was that they got to drive on the front stretch and go over the yard of bricks. This year we decided to add some road course in there too, so you actually get to go through what is turn four and five of the IndyCar road course, backward through turn one and then out onto the front stretch.”

The Lights at the Brickyard starts Friday and runs through December 30. Tickets start at $25 per car.
