The Film Yap reviews Justice League and more
Another superhero blockbuster, an Oscar-worthy film, and two family-friendly films open in local theaters this weekend.
The Film Yap’s Christopher Lloyd shares his take on what you should see and skip:
Justice League
DC Comics finally delivers its supergroup franchise, and it’s a humdinger filled with action and not a little humor. Although the generic villain looks like he could’ve stepped straight out of the most recent Thor movie.”
Lady Bird
Saoirse Ronan stars in this incredibly funny and true tale of a teen girl struggling through her senior year in Sacramento while dealing with her hypercritical mom.”
Wonder
Julia Roberts plays the mom in this touching drama about a young boy with severe facial disfigurement who is going to school for the very first time.”
The Star
This animated kiddie flick looks at the birth of Jesus from the perspective of a bunch of cute cartoon critters.”
Brigsby Bear
One of the weirdest and most wonderful films of the year, about an emotionally isolated man addicted to an obscure TV show who uses it to reach out to others. Buy It.“
