2 transported to hospital after overdosing in vehicle, crashing near South Split

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Two people have been transported to the hospital after overdosing on heroin and then crashing near the South Split.

According to the Indiana State Police, officers responded following a report of two unresponsive men in a vehicle. The two were revived with Narcan.

Neither of the occupants were seriously injured but both were transported to a hospital.

The driver was identified as 38-year-old Juan Ramirez of Lebanon. He was arrested for operating while intoxicated. He had also been wanted in Boone and Hendricks counties on various charges, including burglary.

The passenger was not arrested.
