Pedestrian struck, killed in hit-and-run on southwest side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A pedestrian was struck and killed in an hit-and- run accident on the city’s southwest side Sunday evening.

The fatal accident happened in the area of Kentucky Avenue and South Holt Road just after 8 p.m.

After arriving on scene, officers discovered the 35-year-old woman lying in the roadway.

According to IMPD, the woman was hit twice at an intersection. The driver of a red SUV, the first vehicle to hit the pedestrian, did stop.

The victim was then struck by a second vehicle from another direction, which did dragged the victim. That driver did not stop, but fled the scene going east on Kentucky Avenue.

The woman was pronounced at the scene by responding emergency medical personnel.
