Female died after being struck by vehicle in downtown Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A female has died after being struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon in downtown Indianapolis, police said Monday night.
IMPD did not immediately share the female’s identity or age. A crash report was not immediately available Monday night.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded just after 1 p.m. Monday to a report of serious bodily injury/fatal crash at 22 E. Washington St. Officers arrived and located a female struck.
The female was taken to an area hospital and initially was listed in critical condition.
Police say the driver remained on the scene and was taken to Eskenazi Hospital for a blood draw, which is standard procedure for crashes involving serious bodily injury.
No additional information was immediately provided.
