PERU, Ind. (WISH) — The owner of an Indiana dentistry was arrested last week after he was accused of taking money out of his employees’ paychecks, police say.

Dr. Byron Leon Cohee, 67, of Macy, was arrested on Dec. 20 on two preliminary charges of theft.

Detectives began an investigation in February after receiving information of a possible theft committed by Cohee from his employees.

Cohee allegedly stole money from his employees at his practice in Peru, Indiana, after investigators learned that portions of their paychecks were not deposited into their retirement accounts.

Cohee was being held in the Miami County Jail as of Friday morning.

This investigation is still ongoing.
