Republican caucus selects new City-County Council member

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The City-County Council on Thursday night got a new member.

Republicans in a caucus selected Danielle Coulter to fill the vacant position in District 23, which extends a mile on both sides of South Meridian Street south of Thompson Road and includes a larger stretch on both sides of Meridian along County Line Road.

Coulter is a senior government affairs associate for Dant Advocacy, a lobbying group based in downtown Indianapolis.

In 2016, she ran unsuccessfully for Marion County treasurer.

She will fill the spot vacated by Scott Kreider. He resigned in October, citing professional endeavors at his law firm and an upcoming wedding. He also said he plans to move outside the district.
