Man struck, killed on city’s northeast side

LAWRENCE, Ind (WISH) — One man was killed Tuesday evening after they were struck by a vehicle.

It happened in the area on Pendleton Pike and North Post Road just before 8:40 p.m.

According to Public Information Officer Gary Woodruff, the man was crossing Pendleton Pike just east of Post Road where there was no crosswalk when he was struck by a driver. 

The victim has since been identified as 28-year-old Aaron Cofer.

The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators. The driver will be subject to a blood draw, although there was no indication of any impairment.

The crash remains under investigation.
