UPDATE: The man found deceased behind the wheel of a running truck has been identified as 25-year-old Julio C. Castillo Bedoya, the Marion County Coroner’s Office said Tuesday.

His death has been ruled a homicide. Police have not identified any possible suspects and no arrests have been made.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man on Monday night was found dead with at least one gunshot wound at apartments off Westlane Road east of Township Line Road, Indianapolis police say.

Medics and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were sent just before 7 p.m. Monday to a report of a person shot in the 2200 block of Biscay Square. That’s in the Estates at Crystal Bay apartments on the city’s north side. Westlane Road in that area is also known as 71st Street.

Police at the scene say the man was found dead in a truck that was running. Investigators think he’d been there all day until someone opened the door to the truck.

Investigators found bullet holes in the truck door, and shell casings on the vehicle’s floor.

Police were talking to witnesses but asked the public for help in getting information.
