Fishers Event Center hosting job fair Thursday

FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) — As construction winds down, the Fishers Event Center now looks to hire its first wave of event staff.

Officials for central Indiana’s newest entertainment venue hosted a job fair at Launch Fishers coworking space, 2175 Visionary Way.

Managers from each of the event center’s contractors and departments will be onsite to talk to potential hires.

General Manager Mitch List says they’re looking for anyone interested in working behind the scenes of events.

“(We’re) excited with the turnout,” List said. “Really a great opportunity to come out and get hired and start working events with us when we open in the end of November.

Open positions include everything from security and parking attendants to ushers and food service workers.

The Fishers Event Center will seat 7,500 people and be the home to the Indy Fuel of the ECHL, Indy Ignite of the Pro Volleyball Federation and the Fishers Freight of the IFL.

Marketing Director Anne Clendenin says the building still needs some finishing touches.

“The countdown is on out at the construction site,” Clendenin said. “A lot of great things are happening. We’re starting to see carpet going in (and) the beautiful subway tiles going up. A lot of those ultra-modern amenities that’ll set us aside are going up. It’s wonderful to see it come to life. All these renderings and CAD drawings are physically coming together.”

It will host its first show — Turnpike Troubadours — on Nov. 22.
