TIM SPEARS

Tim Spears serves as Weekend Evening Anchor and Investigative Reporter at WISH-TV. 

He comes to the Circle City from ABC57 News in South Bend, where he served as Evening Anchor.

In recent years, Tim covered corruption in law enforcement, produced a one-hour special LGBTQ+ issues in Indiana, and regularly interviewed state and national lawmakers. He was the lead reporter during Emmy-winning weather coverage in South Bend.

Before moving to Indiana, Tim worked at Spectrum News 1 in Charlotte, NC where he won an Emmy for “Carolina in Crisis,” a documentary about the opioid epidemic.

While some try to keep their professional and personal lives separate, Tim went out of his way to marry the two… literally! While working in Charlotte, Tim met his wife, an executive producer at his station.

They now have a baby girl, named Southern.

Starting in television at KOAM-TV in Pittsburg, KS, Tim won awards in Kansas and Missouri for his coverage of PTSD effects from the 2011 Joplin tornado.

Tim Spears brings more than 10 years of experience to WISH-TV. In his free time, he’s a fan of classic movies, professional wrestling, and exploring natural parks and trails with his family.
