Anthony Richardson gives an update on his injury
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Anthony Richardson left the game with a hip injury in the first quarter, and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
He suffered the injury on a quarterback run up the middle. At the end of the play, he took a hard hit to his hip.
He came out of the game for two plays and then returned for one play.
On the play, he scrambled on another quarterback run, sliding at the end of the play this time. After the play, he got up and grabbed his hip again. He walked to the sidelines and eventually walked into the locker room.
After the game, Richardson said he was feeling sore but thinks he should be good.
“I’m feeling a little sore, but I’m feeling good,” Richardson said. “We got the W today.”
The decision for him to stay out of the game was made between him and the coaching staff.
“They really just asked me how I felt trying to throw and stuff like that, but we both just agreed that it wasn’t best for me to go back out there,” Richardson said.
He also said that he does not wish he would have slid on the initial play that he hurt his hip.
“It’s football, and I feel like he was going to hit me regardless,” Richardson said.
Richardson said he did not know what his status for next week would be.
Richardson threw for 71 yards on four passes before he got injured. He rushed for 24 yards on three carries.

Anthony Richardson left the game and walked into the locker room with a hip injury in the first quarter.
He will not return to the game.
Richardson ran up the middle for 16 yards, but took a hard hit to his hip at the end of the play. He did not attempt to slide.
Richardson also fumbled on the play, but the ball was recovered by the Colts.
He went to the sidelines for two plays after that, and then returned to the game.
On the first play after he went back into the game, he ran with the ball again, sliding at the end of the run.
He went straight to the sidelines after the play, holding his hip. He then walked into the locker room.
Joe Flacco replaced Richardson as the quarterback for the Colts.
