Researchers discover object in our solar system that shouldn’t be there

(WFLA/CNN) — For billions of years, an object has lived in our solar system without us even knowing it was there.

But Jupiter couldn’t hide it forever. Recently, researchers noticed one tiny dot wasn’t moving on the map.

For the first time, astronomers discovered a permanent resident in our solar system, according to CNN.

They say it moved in during the early stages of the solar system’s development, about 4.5 billion years ago.

This exo-asteroid, known as 2015 BZ509, is an “interstellar immigrant” because it originated outside our solar system.
