News Director

WISH-TV/WNDY located in Indianapolis, IN has an immediate opening for an experienced multi-platform minded, innovative News Director. The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced journalist with well-developed leadership skills that can create and lead strategic plans to grow our audience and better serve our community. WISH- TV has one of the largest newsrooms in the Midwest and produces and airs over 84 hours of live local news and entertainment programming per week in DMA rank #25. The individual should be adept with multiplatform broadcast and digital newsgathering, as well as someone who can execute strategic, focused breaking news coverage.  

Key duties:

1. Lead and manager one of the largest newsrooms in the Midwest
2. Good People and Leadership Skills
3. Create & implement strategic plans to grow our audience across all platforms
4. Ability to adapt current resources to emerging technology
5. Manage newsroom staff and provide regular feedback and yearly performance reviews
6. Proven multi-platform experience is a must-have 
7. Previous network experience is a plus

Education & Experience:

1. College degree
2. 5 years multi-platform newsroom management experience
