Police search for possible witness in northwest side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Detectives are searching for a possible witness in connection to a Thursday afternoon shooting that critically injured one person. 

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 4000 block of Caddy Way, between Georgetown and Michigan roads and 71st and 79th streets, around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, on a report of a person shot. 

A confirmed person shot was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in critical condition, according to IMPD. 

Police are looking for a possible witness who they say fled in a burgundy van, traveling west from the scene.
