Investigators: Gas line valve may have been tampered with in Owen County home explosion
SPENCER, Ind. (WISH) — Investigators believe a gas line valve may have been tampered with prior to a home explosion. However, the official cause is undetermined due to the extensive damage.
The Indiana Department of Homeland Security released details of the investigation on Thursday, which is now described as concluded. The State Fire Marshal, the Owen County Sheriff’s Office, the Owen Valley Fire Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were also involved in the investigation.
A home on N. County Line Road near Newport Road exploded on Wednesday afternoon, killing one person.
The name of the deceased has still not yet been released.
