Volunteers search for missing dogs after I-70 crash injures 4 people

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Four people were transported to the hospital following an early morning accident.

According to Indiana State Police dispatch, the accident happened around 4 a.m. Sunday at I-70 and Sherman Drive.

The accident involved two vehicles. Four people had non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash closed I-70 for a couple hours while investigators cleared the scene.

Four dogs were in one of the vehicles, according to an Indianapolis Animal Care Services official.

One of the dogs died, another was found and the other two are reportedly on the loose. About a dozen volunteers gathered Sunday afternoon near 21st Street and Olney Street to search for the animals.
