Indiana teen’s sunflower seed mishap gains national attention
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – When you eat sunflower seeds, the shells have to go somewhere.
15-year-old Mia Simper from Granger, Ind. was in a car with her family and snacking on sunflower seeds. She was throwing the shells out the window, or so she thought.
Simper didn’t realize that her six-year-old sister Ella’s window was open behind her. The shells came back in through the other window and ended up all over a sleeping Ella.
“I woke her up and was trying to explain what had happened, but I was laughing so hard I couldn’t get the words out,” Mia told 24-Hour News 8. “She started yelling at me and said, ‘Mia, this is so gross’.”
Mia’s tweet has been retweeted nearly 8,000 times.
“About a half-hour afterward, Ella thought the whole thing was funny,” Mia said. “Except she always says to me, ‘you better not do that ever again Mia,’ but not in a mean way, in a bossy six-year-old type of way.”
