Artists, artisans prepare for Broad Ripple Art Fair
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — More than 225 artists and artisans have been preparing for one of their largest showcases in central Indiana.
Their work is set to be displayed and sold during the 48th Broad Ripple Art Fair benefiting the Indianapolis Art Center.
The fair is billed as a celebration of the arts in Indianapolis.
It is scheduled for May 19 and 20 across the center’s property on the north end of Broad Ripple.
In addition to vendors, live music and hands-on demonstrations were planned as part of the two-day event.
Drew Mason and Mehdi Molavi are two glassblowing students provided demonstrations of their craft.
“I’ve always wanted to learn this. It’s always been a bucket list item. Finally, got a little older and a little more money to be able to take some classes and I just haven’t left. I absolutely love it,” Mason said.
The Indianapolis Art Center describes the fair as its largest fundraiser with all proceeds benefiting its programs.
